Munich’s distinctive cultural and events scene provides visitors with a wide range of events all year round. The highlights include not only the Oktoberfest, but also the summer and winter Tollwood Festivals, numerous sporting events such as the BWM Open and a multitude of music events.

BMW Open Tennis |
Iphitos Tennis Stadium |
Top class tennis tournament. In addition, visitors to the tournament can enjoy a wide-ranging programme of fringe events whilst the tennis elite compete for points and prize money. |
Pferd International (Horse International) |

Long Night of Music |

The tent spectacle in Olympiapark offers international musicians, art and culture as well as the popular “Market of Ideas” with arts and crafts and culinary treats from all over the world. |
BMW International Open (Golf) |
Munich Eichenried Golf Club |
Spectators get to see the best in professional golf during the four days of this tournament in Munich. Those who qualify for the event are among golf’s elite players. |
Munich Film Festival |

Christopher Street Day Munich (CSD) |

Worldwide, CSD is the biggest day of celebration for the gay community. In Munich CSD has been celebrated since 1980 and has become a major event with several tens of thousands of visitors. The Polit-Parade through Munich city centre gets the CSD weekend off to a great start. |

With the traditional “Ozapft is” (It’s tapped!) the mayor opens the largest folk festival in the world at 12 noon on the dot. Highlights of the Oktoberfest are the procession of beer tent proprietors and breweries and the costume and riflemen’s parade. |

In winter “Tollwood” welcomes its visitors with an atmospheric Christmas market, theatre and music in several tents on the Theresienwiese. The large tent has special musical theatre performances with an exclusive menu. |

Munich’s traditional Christmas market on Marienplatz. The magical pre-Christmas atmosphere is dominated by a gigantic, light-covered Christmas tree. |
